If you have a younger brother or sister, ask a parent if your allowance can be raised for helping your sibling with his or her homework. It's an easy way to make a little extra money, and you will feel good about helping.

Strike a Pose
Choose one person to be the "guard"-she'll leave the room. In the meantime, the other players will freeze into any pose they like. The guard will come back in and walk around the room. The players will change their poses when she is not looking. If the guard sees you changing your pose, you're out! My friends and I played this game at camp and we love it.

Homemade Ice Cream Sandwich
Using chocolate chip cookies (or your favorite cookie), spread vanilla ice cream between two cookies. Put your sandwich into the freezer, and allow it to become solid. What a cool snack!

Ha, Ha, Ha
What did the tie say to the hat? “You go on a head. I'll hang around.”

Ask for Help
On the first day of middle school, I was worried that I would get lost. But it turned out that everyone was very helpful. So, if you're worried about finding your classrooms, don't panic. Just try to find someone who can give you directions. A teacher will be willing to help.

Nifty Name
Display your name on your backpack in fun felt letters. Draw or trace letters onto colorful felt. Cut out the letters using scissors, and glue buttons or sequins to the letters if you'd like. Let dry. With an adult's permission, attach the letters to your backpack using fabric glue. This adds a lot of personality to your backpack!

Bedtime Dash
About 20 minutes before bedtime, tell the kids that they can compete in a little contest. They can race to see who can get ready for bed the fastest. The winner gets to pick the bedtime story. Just make sure that they do everything safely.

Just Flip It
If you are re-doing your room, try to get a double-sided comforter and pillows. When you get tired of one side, you can always flip to the other. Your room will have a cool new look each time you do this.
